Flood Damages Hays Fork Community Church
At the end of May, our little country church suffered a devastating flood that collapsed the basement walls. We are unable to have church in the building right now. We have been meeting in office trailers set up on the church lot and are doing our best to raise funds to repair or rebuild.
Pray for us. Any support is appreciated. We trust that God will never leave us or forsake us.
Update as of September 9, 2009: Recently we received help from a group of fine Christian folks from Elizabeth, WV who volunteered their time and resources to travel to our church and repair the back wall. Many people in our area has donated money and supplies to help with our rebuilding project. Currently the basement is repaired but not painted or furnished. We are still meeting in utility trailers but plan to repair the AC, furnace, and carpets this month. Hopefully we will be able to enter the sanctuary soon.
Below is a picture uploaded on October 5, 2009. The basement has been repaired. We still have heating and cooling to be done. Praise God for his miracle of helping us!!
With God's help we might be able to build a new sanctuary next spring. Pray for us that God will help bring together the pieces so that our little country church might grow.
